Guidelines for the right socks to wear with your tuxedo

A fancy evening party, a ball or a holiday like Christmas is a great time to wear a tuxedo. Discreet design, but prefer plain

If you do choose socks with a pattern, keep it subtle. Tuxedos are usually black. So wear black socks and black shoes to create a smooth transition from pants to socks. If you want something different and choose an outfit in dark blue or gray, for example, do not wear socks with striking and bright patterns. Instead, choose a discreet design or plain socks in the same color, or a shade darker than your tuxedo. Also make sure that the color of your shoes matches the whole.

The right length

Socks that are too short are of course not done when you appear in a tuxedo. Preferably you wear slightly longer socks (fortunately all Carlo Lanza socks fall a little higher on the leg) or of course just knee socks. 'That's how it should be', Jort Kelder would say. The wearing comfort should not be forgotten either. Therefore, choose socks that are made of high-quality materials, such as Egyptian cotton or merino wool or our knee socks in cotton and silk.
